Journalist and activist Luther Keith remembered for his impact on Detroit newsrooms and communities

Luther Keith, a longtime Detroit journalist, mentor and community activist, has died at the age of 74. His family confirmed his passing Wednesday night. His cause of death has not been confirmed. Keith was the founding director of the Journalism Institute for Minorities at Wayne State University, now known as the Journalism Institute for Media Diversity. Wayne State held its 26th annual tribute to the life and legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Friday. The Detroit Pistons filmed a promotional video at Wayne State to honor Malcolm X, on what would have been his 100th birthday on Thursday.
